Wherever you draw the lines, there will be seasons where the numbers do not work. The advantage of three divisions is it gets rid of the long journeys that N2S had, like Redruth to North Walsham. Made even more painful as the RFU no longer funds travel. Though Lymm's travel will be less than Redruth's. The alternative is to have strict lines and vary the number of teams relegated or promoted to keep numbers square. I am not sure that there would be sufficient support to return to that. But, if there is to be another look at league structure, these are the points that need to be discussed. |
