The Lions are a relatively young club made from the amalgamation of two sides, Westleigh and Wigston in 1998, they formed a minis and junior section which culminated in a Colts side.
This season sees the first graduation of their own colts to the first team squad, well done lads.

Must always put Tonbridge in front of Juddians or use TJs, merger of 2 clubs and some get upset

9 players and 1 coach will not be returning for 25/26 season

Unfortunately we say goodbye to three club legends who, between them, have amassed over 700 games for the club. The two most capped Lions players of all time, Johnny Murdoch (285 games) and Oliver Taylor (266 games) have both decided to hang up the boots having both spent 13 years at the club. Joining them in retirement is Simon Johnson who has played 171 games in his 7 seasons at the club.

Two players who have both been a big part of the clubs' success over the last 6 seasons, Jamel Hamilton (150 games) and Isaac Thompson (96 games), will both be joining new clubs for the 25/26 season. Jamel has relocated (again) to Bristol and Isaac will be joining Nat 2 side Hinckley.

Two players who have been pivotal to the Lions' Nat 1 survival this season have earned championships contracts for next season - Joe Brock (50 games) will join Chinnor and Arthur Allen (26 games) will join Nottingham.

The last two departing players leave after just one season. Ben Almond (21 games) leaves to focus on his studies as he goes in to his final year at University and Mack Welsh (1 game) will return to his junior club Melbourne RFC where he played on loan last season.

Finally, Chris McAuley will step away from his role as backs/assistant coach due to moving out of the area. Chris has been alongside head coach Gareth Collins for 5 years and helped the Lions' win promotion to Nat 1 and then secure survival for two seasons.

We wish all those departing players and staff the best of luck with their future and thank them for their contribution to Leicester Lions.
