As it says on the title the kick off has been moved back 30 minutes to 2:30pm or 14:30 if you are that way inclined.

Graham Cox in his report on the Plymouth Albion game states that next Saturday's match has in fact been moved to 2.00 to avoid traffic congestion created by the Blackheath firework display.
Graham is renowned for being accurate in his reports. Is he wrong on this occasion?

It pays to be wise after the event!!!

Graham was correct. The kick off time has been moved again today at the request of Bishops Stortford.

Was agreed to be a Friday night 8pm KO for obvious reasons, however clearly the powers that be at Blackheath put lunch revenues and bar takings above player and fan opinions on both sides accounts

Totally incorrect Chunky. It was BS who turned down Friday night when the fixtures first came out back in June.

Not incorrect at all. I’m talking about the discussions that were had following the semi finals of the WC this weekend. 40 players plus coaching staff agreed to Friday night. Clearly vetoed by those who care more about £££ than what the players want

It’s not all about the players, there is a lot more involved in putting a game on and protocols to follow for changing a game but don’t let the facts get in the way

Sadly the RFU/NCA are at the root of this fiasco. No other union has non full time professional league matches organised for this weekend because it is the world cup final which all players, coaches, managers, volunteers etc will want to watch without then either having to travel to an away match/travel whilst final is on or prepare for a home match. If the community game is to survive let alone thrive it is all about the players because without them you have no game for the alikadoos to go watch.

Another uneducated poster. BS don’t claim to not pay anyone and is also very much so a community rugby club. Not sure you’ll find any other club at the level who have such a strong presence in their squad from homegrown players....

I don't know if I've missed something in your post, but to put "It is all about the players because without them you have no game", is disrespectful to everyone else involved at/with a Club. It takes everyone who Runs the Club, Works for the Club, sponcors the Club, Supports the Club and Refs the game. If these are not involved then the players could just have a game on any suitable field with a passer-by as Ref.

Winger14, I put it’s not in my post as I agree with your sentiments, I also agree with Marigold we should have started the league fixtures a week earlier and this being a free weekend.

Winger 14 no disrespect intended but is is the truth. If there were no players then all the others you mention would simply not be required/have anything to do. I am sure the vast majority of those valuable volunteers would also appreciate a free Saturday to watch their country in the World Cup Final.

And if it wasn't for all the others I mentioned, then quite simply the players wouldn't be required. Unless of course they organised a game, and everything that go's with it, between themselves
It takes EVERYONE involved at/with a Club to make sure there's a game for the Players to play in and the day a success, or not.

That age old question.

Who came first, the players or the administrators ?
