There are a couple of stories up today around Ed Griffiths being drafted in by the Championship to try to (re)vitalize the league. I think that it is an excellent idea to have a development head for the league who is focused on the task. I'd question whether or not he is the perfect person to take on the role given his past associations, but certainly a real rugby eminence with some heft.

I'm also not sure I like the idea that he's resigned to ring fencing. I do like the fact that he's thrown out comparisons to the French Pro D2 - surely that has to be the aspirational target for the league.

All looks a bit vague to me.

Accept it for the Premiership and you can propose it for the Championship - expect to see it in a business case very soon.

He's alright and he don't care; He's got thermal underwear

So the man who first took Saracens over the salary cap 4 years ago and was got rid of, was brought back in recently to lead the club but had to resign because he was charged by the ECB for acting as an illegal players agent whilst working for one of the Counties is the man to solve the Championship's woes? -I think not.

On the contrary, such deviousness may be required!

Or he could lead the Championship into a worse mess.

Well the two articles said nothing of note.

The Championship is trying to establish if there are any viable options out there to stabilise their future as a pro league - I shall wait with baited breath but not expecting great revelations. TV rights with a terrestrial channel might be worth a shout....

Good idea, however

1) how much would A terrestrial channel pay for say 1 or 2 games a round and highlights package.

2) currently the RFU take the tv money - distribution included in their grant - when does this agreement end?
